Dr Abby Bloom was born in New York and trained in public health, policy, epidemiology, and business management. A member of the first group of women to graduate from Yale University, Abby was awarded a PhD from the University of Sydney. She is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is on the board of a number of health and biomedical companies. Her edited book, Health Reform in Australia and New Zealand, was published by Oxford University Press in 2000.
Abby is Managing Director of Health Innovations International Pty Ltd which focusses on international commercialisation of Australian biomedical technology. The firm provides corporate advice and consulting services to financial institutions, private companies, health care groups and government and the World Bank.
